Dr. Sham S Bhat

Profile Description

Dr. Sham S Bhat is an academician with 31 years of experience and is presently affiliated to Yenepoya (Deemed to be University), Mangalore. He completed his BDS and MDS (Pediatrics and Preventive Dentistry) from Bapuji Dental College,Davangere (Mysore University). He has been awarded with the Bright Smiles, Bright Future Recognition award by the International Association of Pediatric Dentistry in 2001 and 2009.

He is the life member of ISPPD and received the ‘Fellow of ISPPD’ in 2013. He has also been recognized as the Most Proactive Senior Academician of the year by Guident Dental Academic Excellence Awards in 2016-17, and nominated as the Academician of the year by FAMDENT Excellence in Dentistry Awards in 2018.

He has a clinical practice exclusively for Pediatric Dentistry. His interest to cater to the needs of special children helped to establish a clinic for their care at the District Government Hospital in collaboration with the Government of Karnataka under the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram.

His keen interest in research has seen more than 100 publications. He is also the recipient of ICMR grant of 21 lakhs for study on children with Autism. On the personal front, he has a keen interest in farming.
